Adolphus Opara’s (1981, Imo State/Nigeria) work is induced by encounters with people and their daily effort to exist amidst obstacles that define and situate their individual locality. He uses visual story telling with the aid of pictures to show his emotional connection to the issues he confronts. In recent times he’s photographic projects are stirring away from being representational to being more conceptual as a result of his new thought processes.
Adolphus’ works have been exhibited at the Tate Modern London, Museum fur Vulkerkunde in Vienna – Austria, African Photography Encounters in Mali, National Museum in Nigeria, Tiwani Contemporary in London. Brundyn and Gonsalves in South Africa and Lagos photo festival amongst others.
